I'll CONTINUE to say this: why in the actual hell would you turn traction control full off to do this? Oh, are you having issues with it kicking in and slowing you down at 150mph? I didn't think so. Would you prefer that if you NEEDED traction or stability systems at that speed that they be enabled? Almost certainly. Finally, are you a professional driver on a racetrack? No. You're just some dipshit turning off nannies for a top end run to look like a hardass. If I can run MDM on the track, surely you can go straight with DSC full on. /Rant

Otherwise, cool video =)

Actually, most TCS are known for causing issues at speed. I can't speak for BMW as I'm sure theirs is better than most, but I've had my TCS kick on while doing 1/2 mile events and it almost caused my car to wreck because it tried to slow me down on a bumpy airstrip and just made the car even more unsettled and ended up in me spinning. Ran the rest of the day with it off and never had the same issue. Now it is permanently disabled.

Most people will turn any form of TCS or DSC off because it simply makes the car unpredictable. You can't judge what the car is going to do if a computer is trying to do the same for you. So at high speeds if I hit an oil slick or a puddle of water, yes I'd rather have TCS off and be in full control of my own car.

I think he has the shift speed in the fastest setting and for you to do that you need to turn off TC.

I think you're right about this! I had forgotten all about that (since my car is a 6 speed). It seems that with MDM on you can only get S1-5 on a DCT gearbox, and to get S6 you have to have DSC totally off.

Still baffling why you would need or want any shift setting more aggressive than S5 just to go fast in a straight line, but at least that might be a partial justification (I guess).
